Art and Compassion was a simple effort to mobilize artists in serving the poor. People in poverty often need a channel for their story to be heard. Artists need meaningful stories to tell.
A few years ago Juarez was named the most violent city in the world outside an active war zone (due to the drug wars). We have friends who have a small children’s home there. We brought a couple photographers down to Juarez to photo and video the children. Then we held an open house back in Minneapolis to tell the children’s stories and raise support for them.
